Hydrostatic Pressure Testing

Complaints and costly waste with a high-quality hydrostatic water pressure test.

Prior to the connection of a new water main, all UK water companies require proof that your new main will not leak.

UK water companies now have strict guidelines and procedures for pressure testing in individual territories.

All pressure testing requires specialist expertise and satisfactory evidence that a pressure test has been performed.

Using guidelines BS EN 805:200/ WIS-04-01-03, our fully qualified engineers can test your water mains quickly and efficiently.

We provide full data logging, graphical analysis and certification on every test.

Chlorination/De-Chlorination

Prior to the connection of a new water main, all UK water companies require proof of Chlorination/DE-Chlorination of an external water main.

Chlorination is vital to maintain the high quality of the drinking water supply.

A mains chlorination service applies to all newly laid pipes that are: Over 50 metres in length, or a pipe of an internal diameter greater than 50mm i.e. 63mm and above regardless of length or if the pipework has not been used for an extended period of time.

Remember, your pipes must be chlorinated/ de-chlorinated prior to connection of the local water authority mains water supply.

We provide a hassle-free, non-disruptive, quick, and easy chlorinated service by a professional engineering team to BS 8558 guidelines, with genuine Chlorination Certification and De-Chlorination Certification.

Flushing

Infrequently use pipes or new mains connected to the local authorities’ water supply can develop stagnant water over time.

These conditions can increase the potential risk of bacterial growth and proliferation, including Legionella.

We deliver a “flushing” program to remove the build-up of stagnation or to stop stagnation from occurring in the future.

We can implement this program and ensure its audited correctly because we work closely with developers/SLO and water companies to tailor such programs.

Water Sampling

You need a valid certification from a USAS lab before a water company connects their mains to your network.

IYC are proud to have a great relationship with all UK water authorities. We use the water authority labs directly or our local AKAS-registered lab.

Water sample results are returned in 3-5 working days (depending on the water authority) and cover the whole UK.

We handle all logistics, ensuring safe delivery of every water sample and once successful, you will be provided with a certification.

Pipeline Swabbing

Sometimes called pigging, is accomplished by propelling the “swab” down the pipeline to the exit point.

The swab is generally a foam tube with a diameter the same size as the internal bore of the water main to be cleaned. The water pressure pushes the foam swab through the pipe which in turn pushes the sediment which has built up in the pipe (if any).

The swab will exit at the end of the main through a hydrant (if fitted) and flushing is then continued until the water is completely clear.

It is typical to use more than one swab per section of the main depending on the level of contamination.

We deliver a very efficient pipeline swabbing service guaranteed to clear the line, ready to use
